These are all metal parts. Sturdy construction but not heavy/chunky metal. The handle extends up to 45 inches - taller than most available models - making it easier to operate the lever. The casters move stairs/steps with ease. Much better than the standard two wheeler. The extra price for the all-metal construction is definitely worth it. The platform is 12" wide x 12.5" deep and has a welded on strap handle while also serving as a convenient handle when folded for storage. When folded, the base surface is 13" deep x allows you to use the 18" width to accommodate protruding nut heads. Only downside: The wheel assembly doesn't fold for storage, but I'm willing to sacrifice a little for such a handy tool!
