Definitely important. Slight gain in speed off the Autobahn and a moderate increase on the Autobahn at medium speeds. I love the torque boost and I love the sound of my Flowmaster muffler! I already had a cold air intake. In terms of gas mileage it seemed to give me a few more mpg, but I tend to invest more in it now that it's got more "um". So it doesn't help in that regard. Make sure you pick up some extra washers before installing, I had a bolt that was too long and this seems to be a common problem.
