Exactly as described but not the last time.

I have a 2002 Mercedes Benz E320. After replacing the fuel filter (with built-in pressure regulator), the engine cranks too much before starting. This is because the fuel pressure drops quickly after the engine stops. Fuel pressure must be maintained by a filter/regulator. After trying three new filters (Bosch) they all work the same way. I've been an MB dealer technician for 25 years. Something has changed in the production of the filter. Instead of fighting the filter I installed this check valve between the pump and the filter. Problem solved! I have to report that the valve is defective. I suspect there is some component that is affected by the fuel. In short, it worked well, but not for long. NOT COMPATIBLE WITH FUEL!
