Best thing for the money, glad I did it.

It will be considerably larger for a little hand.
The buttons on the thumb's side do not contact, however I have not yet tried the mouse in usage. They are quite simple to press in general.
They are tall, but it does not mean they are deaf, if you need to know how loud the clicks are. Yes, this mouse is quite noisy.
(MB: I'll add something if I try it on a PC.)
