Review on Ceramic Hot Faucet by Pfister - Model 9100310 by Hamilton Larcony

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy to fix, works with my Pfister bathroom faucet although the picture doesn't match my part.

If you've been told this is a valid replacement part and your old part has a flower spike on the bottom but are concerned the picture doesn't look like the part you removed from your faucet, don't worry and don't throw away your old stock. The white bushing comes off and you put on your old metal brass bushing (unless it's broken). This information is not presented very clearly online and I had to call Price Pfister for this information a year and a half ago when I needed to replace a cold stem and couldn't figure out what replacement part was available at local hardware stores or online. For my faucet, I had to adapt it (as indicated above, according to the instructions included in the package) to my model, since the design is slightly different from this stem. I had to use part of my old stem (outer brass bushing) and part of the new stem (inner core) and the parts fit together perfectly and fit back into the faucet. I didn't quite succeed the first time (leaked), but I followed the instructions more closely and figured out what I was doing wrong. (I had to make sure the rubber pad on the inside of the white core was moved onto the old part to create a seal). I knew I had to be more careful, study the instructions carefully and use my brain a little - the logic of stopping the flow of water from the stem. Easier to fix (and cheaper) than installing a brand new faucet. I had to replace the cooling rod. The faucet isn't top quality, but at least they support replacement parts at a reasonable price (with pretty good instructions). It took me 15 minutes despite the mistake I made on the first try. Based on the fact that I replaced the cooling rod earlier (about a year ago?), maybe I was safer and it took me less time? When I had to replace the cold stem it took me about 3 weeks of shopping and research to figure out how to do it. Maybe this information will help you save that time?

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
