Review on Spectra Premium 99351 Heater by Jason Daves

Ordered one from Amazon and when it arrived I disassembled the machine which required removing the entire faceplate. When I removed the old one, I found that the new one from Spectra had the tubes installed on the wrong side. The pipes are off center and one has to go through the other through the firewall so the first block I got was useless. Another issue with the unit is that the tubing is a smaller diameter than the factory block meaning the factory firewall grommet will not fit snugly and no new one is supplied and the tubing is crimped to the radiator. The factory Honda unit has ligaments that are tightened with a bolt to create a seal and if Spectra uses the same method the pipes could be changed to the correct sides and fitted. I also wonder how good the seal is on the ferrules, but so far it seems to be holding. I ordered the second block from a local dealership and when it arrived it was the same so apart from a new block from Honda this appears to be for this model. This has worked in the past, but the quality could be a little better.
