Doesn't transfer data between Mac Mini and Android phone

This was the second version of this connector I tried. The phone was recognized but could not move a photo or video. If the phone settings were correct, it just wouldn't work. I've been using a recent Mac and phone for years and it works with a regular USB 2 or 3 cable. This one didn't work.
