I bought 2 of these phones for the base unit which I already have. The speakerphone is great (very clear and can pick up a conversation from across the room), my wife and I can use it to sit together or move around the room and chat with family. In addition, the fact that only the base station requires a phone cable makes this phone an excellent choice for Internet telephony (VOIP) users. One phone in the kitchen, one in the bedroom, and a base station in the living room with a cable modem.NOTE: This phone will also work fine with regular phone service. Call a specific phone (or all) and talk to them on the phone (works well if you work in the backyard and your wife needs to contact you).
