I have had this phone for many years. This is the best cordless phone I've ever had. The reception is excellent, the sound in the handset and speaker is very clear. I wouldn't trade this phone if I couldn't find another handset compatible with this phone. I need an extra phone and that's why I'm looking for one right now. I had no problems with this phone at all.

I have a DCT640 and my 1 year old son threw one of the phones in the toilet. The LCD never ran on it again and they no longer make the DCX640. I ordered one of these and it worked! The phone book was not transferred, but everything else worked fine. Even the old charger works with the phone. One of my other DCX640's has a sticky button so I just ordered a second one. Nice that there is backwards compatibility! Good job Uniden.

This phone is an addition to the existing Uniden cordless phone system in my home. I wanted to import the phone numbers already stored in my original Uniden wireless phone system into the new phone. I have sent several emails to Uniden support asking how to transfer saved phone numbers to the new phone. Uniden still hasn't given me any instructions and I asked for help about 2 weeks ago. Still waiting and not really expecting Uniden to come with instructions.

I bought this phone a few years ago and I love it. I'm in a new house with only 1 phone jack and I can just plug the mains into the wall outlet and the rest into the wall everywhere and I have phones everywhere. I even bought another phone and it was very easy to set up and worked on the first try. The autoresponder is very easy to use and the messages are nice and clear, not like my old one. I bought 2 of these phones for the base unit which I already have. The speakerphone is great (very clear and can pick up a conversation from across the room), my wife and I can use it to sit together or move around the room and chat with family. In addition, the fact that only the base station requires a phone cable makes this phone an excellent choice for Internet telephony (VOIP) users.
