Poor Sound Quality: Computer Components

This product was purchased for HDMI video streaming with separate audio. Over the course of a few minutes the sound gradually fades to near zero and I have to unplug and plug it back in for it to work properly. again and again. Not suitable for live transmission! I know the problem is with the device because when I use a different device I don't have this problem. And of course the return window closed a few hours ago :(
