When the plastic handle of my cheap aluminum bladed scissors literally snapped (yes, really!) trying to cut through a plastic tie, I swore I'd never put up with garbage shears again and gave up on this superb high Advantage - Quality scissors that are definitely worth the price. These scissors will probably be passed on to my grandchildren and then to their children. Sturdy, very sharp and ergonomically designed, comfortable to hold and easy to wield, they don't just "cut" - they "glide" over what you're cutting. When I think of the money I've wasted on cheap scissors over the years, I wish I had just bought one decades ago - over time I would not only have saved money but avoided a lot of frustration! [I'm also considering buying the next smaller pair of scissors (9 inches) for more typical, more modest tasks.]
