Great shoe for running in cold weather

I run regularly. I needed a pair of durable running shoes that would stand up to the elements while still providing the comfort and performance I need for my run. I read about and tried the Untraboost C.Rdy running shoes. Fit and feel: These sneakers are true to size. If you don't have wide feet or don't want to wear thick socks when you run, I would recommend your normal size. They feel tight at first, but after playing with the lacing system and wearing them, they become very comfortable. They provide a good amount of "spring" that helps a person move forward when running. I find this to be a very comfortable shoe for both running and walking. Some people have complained that it takes them "5 minutes" to put these shoes on, which I don't understand. These shoes have no tongue and are "slip-on" shoes with a lace-up closure system. All you have to do is undo the closure system, spread the "toe cages" and the shoe slips on and off with ease. Style & Materials: I think the style is pretty cool and the color combos on offer are great for the price. . They come with a lanyard with a 'closure system', tighten the laces, slide the clasp down and you're done. My summer shoes have traditional laces that allow me to "lock in" the heel for a snug fit. These Ultraboosts aren't designed that way, whether you're using laces or the traditional laces that come with the shoe. The material is water repellent but not "waterproof", it repels water but if you walk through puddles your feet will get wet. All materials feel premium and there is some stretch in the toe box which adds to the comfort. There is a little padding on the heels that helps keep the shoes snug on the foot. Performance: If you're getting this because you're a "runner" and only plan on running in it, you'll love it. If you are a runner, if you don't like "minimalist" running shoes, these running shoes work very well. I ran in the ASIC Gel Excite 7 this summer and honestly I don't feel much of a difference in the "spring" of these shoes, especially since they cost a third of the price. However, these shoes don't have the recovery cushioning, water resistance, or "quick lacing" system of these Ultraboosts. you are warm I walked in normal socks today in 20 degrees and my feet were warm and comfortable. I had no blisters or pain while wearing them. Again, these are VERY comfortable shoes. They also have Continental rubber on the treads that provide good grip on slippery surfaces. They are very comfortable for walking. Bottom Line: Runs true to size, just go up a half size if you have wide feet or plan to wear thick socks. They work well as running shoes, offering good warmth, traction and waterproofing for running in inclement weather. Price can be a factor if you want to wear them as a casual athletic shoe. I recommend them for winter runners, although there are "more serious" options at a high price!
