A little missed! But all in all I am (YET) very satisfied!

Update: 12/27/2020 This device has now been in daily use for 2 years. It is installed in an RV where either I or other people live permanently. MY FIRST REVIEW REMAINS; This water heater met my needs (in central Florida) even during the coldest part of winter. The only issue is the low flow rate required to achieve a 35ยฐF surge, but that's a factor for power in and out. The limiting factor is 120VAC, which I chose to allow (sometimes) use on a solar/battery powered inverter. I strongly recommend the 230v version if your setup allows it. 12/26/2018 The setup is installed and has been running flawlessly for about a month. In real life, I don't observe the declared rise in temperature. The package states a temperature rise of 47.8ยฐF at a flow rate of 0.5 GPM. The lowest flow rate allowed by this device is 0.45 gpm. Every time the flow rate decreases, the device turns off the heating element - apparently to protect against overheating. When testing at 0.45 GPM, the maximum temperature rise I experienced was 39.6ยฐF. In the test configuration, the current draw was 28 amps at 122 volts (3416 watts). Given that the flow rate was just under 0.5 GPM, I concluded that this device was inefficient at transferring power to the water. At least not efficient enough to achieve a nominal temperature rise of 47.8ยฐF at 0.5 GPM. While it doesn't quite meet the efficiency requirements, it certainly meets my needs. For this reason I keep it and will probably buy one or the other of these devices. I may buy a larger unit for another location.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • poorly thought out
