As for the tape, it's thin and fades easily
I use tape around the outside of the support posts of my young tree. The old tape I used lasted a long time and looked great. All of this disappeared in a jiffy, and where I live it almost never rains. I would say I plan on using this indoors but not outdoors in sunlight or outdoors.
