I thought it was 100% cotton because it's so buttery soft but when I looked again it said 'microfiber'. you could fool me! It is breathable but very warm. Again, I can't get over how soft it is. The most comfortable blanket I've had in a long time. My only complaint is that after washing on a cold cycle and throwing it in the dryer on low speed, the filling seems to have dissolved in more areas than others in the duvet. I don't know if it's my fault for washing it wrong or if it just happened. I get cold easily at night and I only had to pull it halfway up because it's so warm. So if you think this comforter will be too thin or light, you are wrong. This is just for me I just wish it was a natural material, but everything is microfiber these days so can't complain.
