I bought this because my neck hurt from sitting at the table and looking directly at the monitor. Now I can push it out and lean back in my chair, tilt it down slightly or sit comfortably with the screen at eye level. My neck pain is completely gone. Also because the armrests are all metal. There are some plastic overlays for the chords, but the arm is actually all metal. It also slides out easily when I need more space.I have VR and sliding it to the side to avoid glitches is as easy as putting it back in. I actually have two, one on a stand alongside my bed for a smaller Asus monitor that I use to watch youtube videos in bed, I can slide it over the bed to view while I recline e or lie down. Another sits on my desk with a 32-inch LG that weighs just over the maximum weight class. It weighs about 22 pounds and holds it well. You need to increase the tension with the Allen key on the large monitor arm. Thing is, you don't feel much tension when tightening it, so it may seem like you're not tightening it, but the shoulder resists the downward pressure more. However, it gets the job done and is holding up well after a few months of use. I can move it up and down at will, but the way I use it I left the one on the table at maximum height and the one by the bed I move up and down to get a better look at it. I didn't use clamps, instead I drilled a hole in the surface of my table and used the mounting sleeve. It's very durable and won't slip. Very happy with it after a few months of use.
