I have bought several tripods and monopods over the years, ranging from inexpensive thin aluminum and plastic versions to high quality Manfrotto versions. This combines the low weight of inexpensive tripods with the strength of Manfrotto tripods. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and comfort. It provides a stable platform and the bubble levels are easy to read and use. The head is ok but not as good as the Manfrotto which alone can cost more than the whole tripod and mount. The head has two locking buttons that seem superfluous. I figured one would fix in one direction and the other in the other direction. The control knobs are good and feel almost smooth. The monopod is also usable and functional but will need to be disconnected and reassembled. This tripod comes with a set of hex keys that attach to the mount, but it takes a few minutes to change the configuration.
