Very good tripod - camera and photo

I have bought several tripods and monopods over the years, ranging from inexpensive thin aluminum and plastic versions to high quality Manfrotto versions. This combines the low weight of inexpensive tripods with the strength of Manfrotto tripods. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and comfort. It provides a stable platform and the bubble levels are easy to read and use. The head is ok but not as good as the Manfrotto which alone can cost more than the whole tripod and mount. The head has

Well built. Metal bracket, carbon legs.

This is a very good tripod, but it is heavier than expected. This is my third tripod. The first was ancient, weighed a ton, and was built like a tank. I bought lightweight aluminum and plastic in search of something I would like to carry around. It's perfect for the hobbyist that I am. I saw this one made out of carbon fiber and thought it would be even lighter and more portable. (The description used to say it included a detachable monopod, which also appealed to me, but that's not the case…

Very good tripod - camera and photo

My teenage daughter is interested in photography and getting good gear is one of the biggest challenges. Photography isn't a cheap hobby, although I'm glad you don't have to develop film anymore! With that in mind, I was excited to learn about Sabrent's 62-inch carbon fiber tripod with 360-degree camera mount. At least I was hoping for a good tripod. The carbon fiber construction is a plus, as is the weight (just under 5 pounds). The 360 degree swivel scale, quick release plate and ball joint…

Good Budget Tripod: Solid Tripods

The Sabrent Carbon Fiber Tripod is an affordable ballhead tripod that should meet the needs of most hobbyists and semi-professionals. There are three main types of tripod heads for photography. Ball heads are very common because they are quick and easy to set up. Triangular heads require a bit more effort, but can also be used with heavier cameras. Gimbal tripods are generally high-end tripods and are used for large-bodied, long-zoom digital SLR cameras. For most compact mirrorless and smaller…

Smooth ball head and easy 3lb controls. 2.0 oz

I have both the 69" Sabrent tripod (weighing 4lb 8.5oz) and this 62" tripod (weighing 3lb 2.9oz) so this tripod is substantial easier. The legs have two lever clips, making it very easy to extend the legs. The center column has a threaded cap at the bottom with a spring-loaded hook to add weights for stability. Remove the cap and you can remove and flip the center column to position the camera closer to the ground. The head pans very smoothly once you release the control knob. It has two more…

If you are unfamiliar with tripods, do not rely on instructions.

This is a really good camera tripod. From a bit of research I've done, carbon fiber tripods are more expensive, but it's better if you can pay a little (or a lot) more. I've never had a tripod before, so this is a new experience for me. The tripod comes with a nice carrying case. It's not heavy, although of course it has some volume. So if you're not used to carrying around a tripod, you need to take that into account. It would be super cool if my camera could also fit in the bag! But only a…

Pretty good lightweight tripod with a few dubious features.

I had the opportunity to test both the aluminum Sabrent tripod and this carbon fiber model. Both are ok but not the best even for the price. Firstly, the tripod comes in a nice carry case with an inside pocket for the included adjustment tools. Unfortunately, the user manual is missing, although it contains no actual instructions apart from pictures of the components. The tripod extends as it should and the center column is secure when tightened. If desired, it can also be removed and turned…

Updated March 11, 2019 - After several email exchanges with a very unhelpful customer service representative at Sabrent I became eventually transferred to someone else. This person has agreed to send a replacement tripod. I didn't have to go through all that drama, but I'm grateful they at least replaced the tripod. Update March 4, 2019 - I haven't used this tripod that much because one of the leg clamps is loose and keeps slipping off the leg it's on. I used a metric allen wrench to gently…

  • Questionable purchase for senior

My parents planned a family trip to Quebec, Canada in 1968. It was one of the most eventful family outings ever and I received a 35mm camera and flash as a birthday gift. . I was interested in the threaded hole on the bottom of the camera and read that it was for a tripod. Although I've never been into photography, I've used this camera a lot over the years for travel and the like. I would have wished for a tripod like that back then. While some of the photos I took in Canada didn't need a…
