I'm happy with the smell - smells great - but not thrilled with the effectiveness of the shaving oil. I thought a lot better about American Crew's product, which appears to be discontinued. I don't think that's a substitute. Although it's very oily (I have to lather my hands after applying and before picking up the razor), it doesn't lubricate the blade very well and after shaving I can feel the sting of the razor; Note that before I shave I use oil and then shaving cream, so it's not just oil. I have shaved several times with this product so I think this is a fair opinion. It's a relatively cheap product so I can just throw it away. And I want to point out that this is just my opinion and your mileage may vary. Others may find the lube satisfactory and it smells really nice, so people might want to try it to see if it works for them. But it doesn't suit me, so I can't fully recommend this product.
