I bought these to hang Christmas lights outside around windows instead of tacking them for trimming.10 years ago this wasn't a problem.Whatever manufacturers were used (maybe silicone rubber?) helped, although over time they started to fail (hence I had to do more but I've tried several products, including this one, and after a minute or two they stop sucking and the light goes out - it gets boring quickly. I got to the point where I ended up using a lot of clear tape instead In the end I came to the conclusion that maybe the cold temperature had damaged the seal, so I used those suction cups to brush the blonde strands inwards stig and it worked better. It's hard to see the lights from the outside, but it's passable.
