First off, this is a **NOT** 2 PIN POLARIZED connector. You can rotate the plug 180 degrees and it will still stay plugged in. Second, fitting the block into a standard power cord is non-trivial. You will need to remove a small screw and nut, both of which are non-captive. The wires then need to be stripped and secured with small screws. Finally, the top and bottom halves need to be pressed VERY tightly together for the short bolt to reach the nut, which is easiest if you have 3 or 4 hands to assemble it. Finally, the legs are sooo thin - there's no friction when plugged into a standard outlet (at least the ones I have), the plug falls out instantly when the outlet is stuck in the wall. Yes, you can get it to work, but you'd better bite the bullet and go to your local hardware store to buy something that works better.
