This review is for the Roccat Torch vapor microphone. At its base are various buttons that allow you to change the recording mode, volume or microphone gain. You can tilt it backwards to get the best angle when you're talking to it and rotate it from side to side. The blue light looks amazing on this thing and is used to show the percentage of gain in the mic. shines through the net. No drivers are required to use it, but it is listed on the website as only compatible with Windows. On the back there is an LED brightness switch with different brightness levels from 0 to 100% that you can toggle. This is ideal for late nights when you don't need a lot of light. The first thing that struck me upon opening the box was how substantial the weight of this device was. The base is lead filled as far as I know, but I still like it. You won't have any problems with that tipping over or moving around at all. This is a very desirable feature for me. This mic sounds great. Your voice sounds very clear. I asked some of the people who called me how it sounded and they all said it sounded great. Was it the first mode that looks like a whisper? The icon looks like a kidney+ to me. I also found the kidney function to be great. I also liked that I didn't have to bend down for this thing to pick me up, it just worked. It has what I thought was a touch button on top, but it actually turns out to be a proximity gesture sensor. Just wave your hand over the microphone to turn it off. There is a switch on the back to set the distance at which it activates. This is a great feature because when you press the microphone, it usually makes noise and disturbs people. You can silently deactivate yourself. When you unmute, the large Roccat icon turns red and the mute icon below also lights up, where it would normally say "LIVE" if you hadn't muted it. To be honest my only issue with this item is the size. It might not be possible to do this and keep the same voice clarity, but if it were just an inch or so larger than the Roccat logo, that would be amazing. Either that or even turn the mic sideways. I have a lot more free space than on my desk from top to bottom. The way it sits now blocks some of my monitors a bit. I wish it was further back but it would block even more. All in all, this is a great microphone. It has the clarity you're looking for, but could add a little more to your table depending on your setup. I definitely recommend it to anyone who currently needs something more than a regular microphone.
