Inexpensive Replacement engine runs great

Today's gasoline with ethanol in it is extremely caustic to carburators. I got a good deal on this snowblower because it did not run. It had been sitting in someone's garage for years. The compression felt fine and the oil level was adequate so I took a chance. When I got it home, I immediately removed the carburator. The bowl was corroded and the jets were clogged. I cleaned the carb the best I could but it still looked bad. I reassembled the engine and started it up but it would not hold a consistent rpm at high speed. Before taking it apart again I found this carb on Walmart and ordered it.On delivery date I decided to take the old carb off again so when the new one arrived, I could just install it and try it out. The first thing I wanted to do was to drain the fuel I had added when I testing the the carb cleaning. I disconnected the fuel line from the carb and a little fuel trickled from the line into my container. I expected it to drain faster so I pulled the line from the tank. After doing this gas started pouring over the machine. I quickly put the line back on and the flow went back to a trickle.I inspected the fuel line and noticed when holding in straight, I could not see light through it. I stuck a long screwdriver through it and out came a greasy black gasket like material that was clearly clogging the line. I replaced the line with a new one.By the time I had the fuel line issues resolved the Walmart truck had arrived with the new carburator. I decided to just put it on because I had it in my hands and it looked like a pretty close replica of the OEM that was so badly corroded by old fuel.I installed the new carburator, getting pretty good at it by then, added fuel and fired the snowblower up in one pull. It idled perfectly and has plenty of top end power. It has been unseasonably warm in the Northeast and there is no snow in the forecast but I look forward to using this blower as soon as I get the chance.
