I have an old 4.1 surround sound system that still sounds and works great, but my new computer doesn't have a built in surround or center channel. In a Fedora 33 workstation (and I'm guessing everything is newer!) Basically plug and play - I had to go to the sound panel and select speakers - CM106 Like Sound Device, after that I could switch between *Analog Surround 4.0 audio Select Out * Analog 5.0 Surround Out * 2.1 Analog Surround Out * 4.1 Analog Surround Out * 5.1 Analog Surround Out * 7.1 Analog Surround Out (it has no outputs). Select a digital output that works but does not offer surround sound capability.
