This 4th hand tool is really well made, grips the cable without deforming or wearing it out and can pull the cable more than enough. for every job I need it for. I had a riveted switch the other day that was partially stuck to the bench, so I wanted to put solvent and grease on the joints. I clamped a length of cable into the derailleur clamp bolt and attached this tool to the "tail" that was hanging from the derailleur cable stopper hole. until the rust is gone and fresh grease seeps in. It saved me from buying a new one. As far as I know, the tool paid for itself the first time I used it. Incidentally, the brakes can be easily adjusted with it. Much better than today's cheap imitations!
