Baby is safe in his crib

I bought these crib pads before my baby was born but I didn't put them on until he was 5 months old and moving in his crib. I was afraid that their little arms or legs would get caught between the planks when they turned around in circles at night. To make them breathable, they are not padded like traditional bumpers. My baby is now 9 months old and will crawl all over the crib even banging his head on the slats and it never offends or bothers her so I don't think all that padding is necessary and clearly unsafe. It felt like they gave out a bit when I installed them, despite all my attempts to get them tight and tidy. To solve this problem I woven them through the slats (2) on the long side of the cot extra times (similar to how they are woven through the corners on the product image). It just gave the balaclava extra support and kept it from sagging. There are also small ties on the outside of the balaclava which I think should also help keep it from sagging. When I installed them, I accidentally installed one with the zip ties up and the other with the zip ties down. I wish I could attach both straps with the drawstrings down because my child now reaches over the slats above the lining and plays with the drawstrings. I have to turn them over so they're down, I just didn't get that far. In general I am very satisfied. I feel like my baby's arms and legs are safe in the cradle without the risk of those soft pads.

Cons
  • Too long to wait
