I spent about 2 weeks trawling through Amazon reviews and looking for different comforters to find something soft, fluffy that is well made to keep us warm in the winter . I also planned on ordering a size larger than our queen mattress to ensure my duvet-grabber friend had no more excuses! :PI I'm SO glad I finally took the plunge and bought this! All the negative reviews about them falling apart in the washing machine scared me a bit, but I honestly think it's because people have been trying to get these giant puff blankets to fit in standard washers and dryers. A king sized duvet will definitely NOT fit in your standard washer/dryer and I'm pretty sure even a queen sized bed can pose a challenge. I washed this comforter in a large washing machine on a laundry mat and dried it in giant dryers along with 3 tennis balls and it came out PERFECT. It's the perfect amount of warmth, even at a time when it's still considered "summer" here in Texas, and unlike the blanket we had before, my feet don't get cold at night when I'm next sleep at our window. . The filling is almost like silk (squeeze the blanket between my fingers) but still very plump! And the outer material is so soft I couldn't tell if sheets were on or not! Also, I have dry skin on my feet and I hate stuff sticking to it, but it just glides over them like I just got a fresh pedicure. Also, none of the blankets you buy will ever be as plump as the pictures show - just forget that for now. But I have to say this comforter is the perfect amount of puffiness for me! Overall this is a GREAT purchase - as long as you don't mind the extra washing steps in a decent sized washer and dryer. Otherwise there is a risk of breaking it. We already do laundry on a laundry mat so we don't care. It comes vacuum packed so it takes a day to inflate (unless you wash it right away). I absolutely LOVE this thing!
