I am very disappointed in this product and claiming it is waterproof is false advertising when it is not. I was so happy with this product and bought it even before I brought my new Rottweiler puppy home. Especially since I just bought a brand new Jeep with leather interior. Well, it turned out to be a fiasco when we made our first trip out of town. She was in an accident when she was only 10 weeks old and she was soaked right down to my leather seats. I still didn't believe and thought maybe I didn't express myself properly. Next time I put a towel underneath, reinstalled and double checked the straps. Well we're on a dirt road and the sound startled her so she accidentally restarted the boat. I go out and check and sure enough it went through and soaked the towel. Now I'm mad because I cleaned them my whole vacation (not easy when you're in the mountains), my seats too, and stressed that they won't last when we get home. For those wondering she's a puppy so she still can't fully control her bladder and I've been stopping every 30 minutes to avoid this situation. Can you imagine the damage that would be done if she had a full bladder? Yes she looks good, comes in a cute bag and keeps her from scratching my leather seats, but then again she's only 10 weeks old so she's still young. I wouldn't even trust that to avoid scratches when it gets bigger. Another thing is the cover doesn't cover the sides of the seats so I wouldn't even spray Scotchguard. Due to the shape of my seats, there was still some leather exposed no matter how tightly I tucked it into the seat. Luckily I bought a console cover that helped close some of the sides and her car seat belt kept her from jumping all over the place. The whole point of buying it was waterproof and scratch resistant. Now back to the drawing board, looking for a case that fully covers the sides and is truly waterproof.
