Ahhh I love this Paw Patrol spelling pad so much! My son is just obsessed with Paw Patrol. I can say with confidence that this is his favorite pastime. Having something educational coupled with it is very exciting for me as a homeschooling mom. The spelling area screen is styled similar to the puppy block from the show. The writing pad has room at the bottom for all your letters and a pocket at the back for all your spelling cards. It folds up well and doesn't take up much space. It fits easily on our shelves and can be pulled out for play on the table or floor. The letters are chunky and easy to grab and lift. My son has cerebral palsy and lacks fine motor skills which is a big problem for us as many educational toys are too complex for him or really frustrating for him. He had no problem picking out letters and spelling them out. The letters are double sided, different letters on each side. This is my only complaint about the product: you can lay out all the letters like us and don't have the correct card display option as it is on the back of another letter. I find this frustrating for some or limiting independent use when they have to scroll through all the letters to find the right one. Only complaint! There are several cards that have many 3 and 4 letter words on them. The photos are from the Paw Patrol show and really help keep my son interested. You can also include some reminders if your kid is obsessed like mine haha! The cards are flexible but very durable. I think they will work fine in a normal game. Between the letters and the card that says "Melissa and Doug" is a small tab that you can leave up to hide the spelling of the word, or fold down to reveal it. This is great for different skill levels as beginners learning spelling/letters can copy the spelling and work on sounds and letter search skills, while more advanced spellers can try spelling themselves and then review their work. You put the card in the spell checker and it contains your letters for the word. Letters will not be left without a card as this is open. When you're done, remove the card and the letters will fall into the container below. Overall I am very satisfied with this product. My son loves it and we are so excited to add it to our playroom.
