Review on Fjallraven Kanken Laptop Backpack Everyday Backpacks by Renee Johnson

I originally ordered the 15 inch version of this backpack but had to return it as my laptop didn't fit in the compartment. My laptop is a 15.6" model and measures approximately 14.25" x 10.5" or 36cm x 26.5cm. It measures 17.5 inches or 44 cm diagonally across the closed lid. The Surface itself The screen measures 15.6 inches when measured diagonally, which is how manufacturers define an advertised laptop. Size (17" vs 15.6"). With a 15" Kanken laptop, my computer was the perfect width, but was a bit too long for the zipper to work. This 17 inch version of the backpack is suitable for Lenovo Legion Y545. Well, with about 1.5 inches of extra space at the top of the laptop compartment. I was concerned that this backpack would look big on me given my height (5ft 2in), but it doesn't seem much bigger to me than my Jansport. I was able to fit a 1.5" textbook, a 2" binder, a Ti-83 calculator, a 7" x 7" x 2.5" lunch box, an 8" water bottle, a 10.5 x 8 inch notepad to 100 sheets and 8 inch pencil case accommodate. This gives me extra room at the top for snacks or a tightly rolled sweater. Previously I have not had to make room by removing a foam insert about half an inch thick. The front pocket is decent size, I put various small items in it, like markers, earphones, phone, wallet, purse, etc. Foam board. As others have pointed out, the lack of elasticity can make it difficult to slip a water bottle into a "water bottle" bag when the packaging is full. The construction and material feel solid, and none of my gear got wet when I was caught in a downpour for three minutes without an umbrella. Otherwise I cannot confirm the quality of the sealing. I wiped it down with a slightly damp cloth to keep it spot free as it does get a bit dirty (like any backpack) during the week. I ordered the Deep Forest version and it's very, very dark. green which is what I wanted (and expected after looking at the product photos). I don't carry my laptop every day, but when I add my laptop the bag weighs around 12-15 pounds (I weighed it a while ago and it was in that range) and it's more comfortable to carry than my Jansport.
