I'm not a cake maker but I saw a picture of a cake with this design on the internet and tracked down the villain. Ordered for a cake baking competition. It arrived within 2 days (it ships from Ohio, the same state I live in). I used it on a cherry pie and EVERYONE was so impressed with the rust on it. The cake took 2nd place (my apple pie took first place!) Contest rules require cakes to be in a disposable plate. I used a 10 inch disposable pie pan I bought at my local Wal-Mart and it was the perfect size for the lattice design (as you can see in the photo). I recommend rolling out the dough on lightly floured parchment paper for easier handling. Cut the flour into bars. Once you have placed it on the rolled out pie dough, press down on the pan very firmly. THEN rotate the parchment paper 180 degrees and press again. This will give you a clean grill cut all around so you can easily pull the cut outs out of the flour. I used the tip of a steak knife to pry out the cutouts. Rolling out the dough on floured parchment paper, I found it easy to line the rust perfectly onto the cake without stretching it. Deafening. Highly recommended.
