Review on ๐Ÿ”๏ธ Ultimate Protection: Mountain Hardwear Compressor Gore Tex Mitt - Unbeatable Performance and Comfort by Kris Wagner

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great Mittens - Accessory

These are great winter mittens, high tech, inexpensive and probably overkill for some purposes. Learn more about these gloves.* Warm. Very warm, very comfortable. MH rates them 4 out of 5 for warmth, which should be enough for all but the most extreme temperatures. Because they're nice and loose (a tighter fit means less airflow and less warmth), there's room for lining if needed. Insulation type: Primaloft.* Waterproof. Gore-Tex lining offers maximum breathability and waterproofness. MH rates them 5 out of 5 for water resistance. Only non-breathers would be better in this regard, although your hands would probably be cold with sweat. * Dexterity/Grip. These are mittens so I'm not sure you can expect maximum dexterity and MH accordingly rates them 2 out of 5. The rubberized palms are very grippy. MH only rates it a 3, but I'd probably give it a 4.* Durability. These are not ski gloves or work gloves. They have no leather lining and are not made of Cordura. They're as light as lightweight hiking/camping gloves can be and are really good in that regard, but they're not built to be subject to abrasion. Accordingly, MH rates them 2 out of 5 points. You should be able to handle a few shovels here and there though, but I wouldn't buy them if that was your main need. However, a Pertex ripstop shell should easily handle what it's designed for.* Other features. Wide cuffs with elastic drawstring for easy handling with gloves. Large loops for easy donning of mittens. Detachable bracelets. What they don't have is an adjustable cuff, just elastic. Small loops on the sides of the mitten at the first joint. Maybe just for styling, but they can be used to hang gloves upside down for easier drying. So really great, very warm, light hiking/camping gloves. They're probably overkill for basic winter use, but you won't need warmth when you eventually buy them. Highly recommended.
