I haven't had a waffle iron for a long time. I had one in Europe, but ever since we moved to the United States I've always held back and waited for the right waffle maker to come along. Well I guess there is no "right" option other than the one that works for you right now. I'm not overly impressed by this waffle maker, but IT WORKS GREAT as it should. $36.99 for this item is definitely not cheap and chances are there are other products on the market that are better made or even cheaper. I found this and decided to give it a try. It's worked pretty well so far, so can't really complain. It's very simple, very easy to use. It glows red when warm and turns green when ready to use. The same thing happens every time you pour something in and close the lid: the red light comes on and you have to wait a few minutes for it to turn green again to open it again and take out the waffle. It has different numbers that you can slide to get the heat you want (similar to classic toasters). Mine is permanently set to the maximum (5) as I like our waffles to be cooked and golden brown. What I don't like is that when it's hot you can't touch anything except the front black plastic handle. portion (but it's also very normal) and what I LOVE is that it makes good waffles, it HAS NO RASH and is VERY EASY TO CLEAN! Use a washcloth with warm water (maybe a little soap) and with a few swipes your waffle maker will be clean and ready to be stored until ready for use again. I am happy and content so far and I hope this will continue for some time to come.
