Good size cooler. We used it for the first time on an 85 degree sunny day. It has been opened several times and sat in the sun throughout the meal. He then sat in our car (closed) for several hours with the windows open in an unshaded parking lot. At the end of the day (8 hours after we packed it) the ice packs were still cold inside and the drinks were refreshingly cold. It was a lot better than the "pocket" cooler we used to use which ran out of ice packs and left drinks undesirably warm.
