Review on Sony DVP SR200P DVD Player Black by Rob Clark

I've been going through a lot of scratched DVDs from the public library and my old player often got stuck on them. Very unpleasant! This Sony player can reproduce them MUCH BETTER. So far no problems. Also, I have several DVD-R or DVD+R copies of home movies made by my computer and this player has no problem with them. My old player often had problems with it. (Maybe cheap DVD players will play it, too. I don't know.) I'm deducting a star because it's a pretty basic player. There are certainly better ones out there, but maybe not at this price point. Also, the basic version is often better as many of the features you don't use can be tiresome. The DVD player has two things I really like: 1) A great feature is that it remembers where you left off the last six discs you played. It's really great when more than one person is watching a DVD on it. When your child pulls out your half-watched DVD, you can put it back in and they'll remember where you left off. 2) Second, this is the quality of the remote control. Most electronic devices in this price range have super cheap remote controls. The remote control isn't too fancy, but feels solid. I'm optimistic it will survive the inevitable falls and abuse that come with remote controls.
