Review on πŸ”¦ Life Gear Magnetic Emergency Reusable by Tina Peterson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good product - environmentally friendly for cars, hiking and camping

Less than ten euros? What's not to like? I bought them a few years ago and have used them several times while traveling around the country. One twist and you get steady light. The second round - and you get a blinking light bulb. I think this cool feature alone is worth the price. I bought a second set for the emergency kit but needed it on the way home from the post office. Luckily for me. The police officer who stopped to help saw them and asked, to which I was happy to provide them with the name of the product and the store I bought them from. Other reviewers have mentioned issues. They come with a guarantee! DUH folks! The box says they provide free batteries for life, excluding shipping and handling. Don't bother either. They take CR44/LR44/A76 batteries - they're all the same. And you can buy them from Revain - pretty much any number from 2 to 100. Enough batteries to replace all the old ones in a 3 pack of these flares cost you less than Life Gear shipping and handling. BEWARE of batteries that are too cheap and offered by some vendors. Many of these are old dead stock and won't last long. UPDATED April 15, 2018: I downgraded my rating from 5 to 3 stars for two reasons. There is a tiny screw that attaches the red base to the bell and the screw hole is so close to the edge that the slightest pressure will shatter the red base and render the whole block unusable. This is a design flaw that is very common in cheap consumer products. Another issue, and perhaps not the manufacturer's fault, is that the batteries need to be replaced every 12-18 months or they will leak and ruin the flashlight.
