These stockings are excellent quality but take a long time to make, I would estimate at least 50 hours each. I made the first one for myself, another for my husband 33 years ago, then for our son and finally for our sister-in-law. This stocking is for our grandson and is personalized with the addition of Santa with a fire truck, his dad's station number and his black lab, and beads I had from previous projects. The end product is an item that can be used for many years. Another reviewer suggested that I recommend adding sequins and beads last. Threads are constantly attached to these elements, slowing down progress. I cut out all the pieces and group them by color or finished pieces in sandwich bags. Smaller pieces are attached to each other to reduce the risk of loss. I embroider details before application. I have several needles with different thread colors so I don't change colors often. I also put on a stocking so as not to tear the seams.
