Bought this rack to use on my 18.5" Weber Smokey Mountain Smoker. Racks with ribs can fit very tightly on this smoker. So I decided to try a rib rack to To free up space and smoke more grills at once.This grate is of significantly higher quality than the previous Brinkmann brand grate that I have tried and failed;As other reviewers have mentioned the metal is thick and appears to be of a higher quality than you would expect from a product at this price point. Also, this rack is larger than most; It measures approximately 17" from end to end and fits perfectly with my WSM's upper grille. Every "slot" in the grate is nearly 3" wide giving enough room for smoke and heat to enter from all sides. Ribs. This was a great relief as most other grills allow you to do this e.g force the ribs to stack on top of each other, and the end result is ribs with slightly uneven smoke penetration, not to mention ribs that are very difficult to coat in sauce while cooking. Used only for ribs, the grate is reversible and is large/shaped to accommodate fairly large roasts, both smoked and grilled. My only caveat is that if you decide to use baby back ribs, the stance will be very high, which will cause the shorter back ribs to feel like they lack support when over racks . I didn't have too much trouble cooking them, and the larger rack comes in handy for large pork ribs or St. Louis-style ribs. The metal has some kind of non-stick coating and we recommend cleaning it with a sponge only and not a wire brush or other harsh cleaners. I found the rack to be fairly easy to clean; After a quick 5 minute soak and some soap and water with a standard kitchen sponge, the frame will look brand new and ready to be used again. Overall I highly recommend this product.
