They are easy to put on the door, but because of the cheap velcro they often fall off. I'll get a stronger velcro, hopefully it will work better. They did a good job of protecting the door of the part it covers (I can see scratches on the lid that would have been on the door without this, which is great). However, it does not cover the entire door. This makes sense as the door probably wouldn't close if closed further, but it means my dog may have scratched the side of the lid where the door wasn't secure, so I wish it was closed a little more .
