Review on πŸ”Š Enhance Your Speaker Installation with Metra 82-6901 Universal Speaker Adaptor Plates by Sean Julian

Not Even Close fits speakers

I bought these with the intention of quickly installing a 6 1/2" Rockford Fosgate kit in my standard 6x9 locations. NO! Now that won't happen! It there is an error in the cutouts for the tweeters. They have circles that are pre-measured to different sizes. But not all speakers fit those sizes. So I just flipped it over to a new canvas for a hole saw. But there is already a hole In the center. My hole saw had nothing to hook on and was slipping and scratching it. Who wants to see a scratched speaker bracket looking through the grille? I'm not sure! You need two sets for strength. And if you use 6 1/2 instead of 5 1 /4, be sure to score them carefully before snapping off excess plastic, I can see one of them breaking easily on two very narrow sides. Lastly, those 6 1/2 firs are awful. What I mean is that you can move the speaker back and forth in any direction by almost a quarter of an inch. How should they create back pressure for the bass? Overall terrible design. Of course, Metra always hits or misses. Always underestimate the many different product lines instead of focusing on making fewer products right.
