Review on Labwork Compressor Clutch Toyota 2005 2016 by Mike Steeg

Easy and inexpensive repair for my 2010 Tacoma air conditioner!

Oh I'm really SO happy with it. My 2010 Tacoma's air conditioner broke down on what appeared to be the hottest day of the year. Everything worked fine and then. No. Sometimes there was a horrible noise coming from the compressor clutch and sometimes it wasn't, but in all cases I got a horrible flashing light from the AC button. Oh it was SUCH a long and hot drive home that day. Internet research revealed that the probable cause was that the rubber coupling on the front of the A/C compressor clutch had failed and in fact closer investigation showed this to be true. I ordered it and two days later I had the part ready to install in my hands. After 30 minutes I had a working air conditioner. I won't go into the details of removing the old assembly and installing the new one, except that a) I added some blue threadlocker (don't use red!) to the new screw before installing it, b) I didn't do it. forgot to install washers; and c) I used an oil filter wrench to hold the new clutch assembly out of the way while I tightened the bolt.
