Everything is OK! But the supplied audio cable is defective?

Shooting trains for my YouTube channel requires a very good microphone. I bought this because my other small mic was having sound issues. When I received the real box everything was fine, in good condition. Putting everything together was good and easy. I always have spare AA batteries with me when I take it on long trips. Well, here's what I'm going to say about this XLR to DSLR 3.5mm audio cable. I was skeptical because the end where you connect the gun mic is wobbly. I connected a 3.5mm to my Canon 80D and there should have been two channels of audio but there was only one. I thought "oh maybe I need to add an adapter" but tried two different adapters with the cable that came with it; an audio channel. Next to me lay another such cable. I tried this and just like that, two audio channels! All in all, I'm not 100% sure if it was a cable issue or if it was supposed to be a single channel. Don't think it has to be a channel. In summary, the sound quality is good; The deadcat windshield does the trick. But if you order this mic, be sure to check the audio cable before you go out and record. What happened to me may or may not happen to you, but I'll give you some advice for the future. Thanks very much!
