Because my AVR is close to the wall, I needed something as low as possible to connect my speakers to. I've used the old style plugs - both screw and screw cap type - and in both cases they were much more profiled and protruded a fair bit from the back of the receiver when installed. To fix that, I bought these bananas. plug, and I'm glad I did. It takes a little extra work to carefully remove/expose the right amount of strands and then twist them together. However, once completed they remain taut and fit very securely into the speaker stands. The old earplugs I used always worked loose over time and I had to keep checking to make sure they were tight. They cannot come loose and stay as tight as the day you installed them. I liked them so much I installed them on all the speakers and AVRs in other rooms. After purchasing, I noticed that local electronics stores use them on the floor in their showrooms to connect speakers to receivers. I asked why and they gave me the same reasons I bought them for my house! Highly recommended! Thank you for reading.
