Review on The Kosher Cook Silicone Braided Challah Mold - Small - Oval Challah Pan - Challah Bread Baking Mold - Simple Shaping - 2 Pack by Melissa Marie

Highly recommend for the shallot uniform

I bought these items because I liked the large size and wanted to be able to make a small shallot when we have few or no guests. The resulting shallot is fairly homogeneous. I find that they come out slightly curved on the bottom (which is up when you start baking), but that's not noticeable when you place them on a board or baking sheet. I think they're essential for someone like me who isn't an expert at braiding, and another benefit is that challah recipes with sticky dough are much easier to work with. For some reason, the manufacturer didn't specify the exact baking time for small ramekins in the instructions. I find that the same conditions recommended for the large size work well: 350 degrees F (177 C) for convection ovens, 20 minutes in the tin, and an additional 10 minutes after the shallots are removed from the mold and placed on the pan Form were placed baking sheet. . I've had good success with a bread machine challah recipe I found online, as well as an egg-free "heavenly challah" recipe from The Secret of Challah. The last recipe always grows quickly and is practically reliable. After at least two years of experience, I would recommend increasing the baking time by 2-3 minutes for both stages. Do not remove at the end of the first step unless the top (bottom of the finished bread) is brown enough to avoid possible sticking to the silicone mold.
