I bought these attachments for 3 reasons: compatibility with my device, different colored stripes to tell which is which, and softness. Software was not an option. These tips tend to be medium/hard and I got ulcerated gums and cleaned my gums to the point of wetness. However, they have different color bars and they work with my device, which is why I give them 2 stars.
