I ordered this model to mount on the top/back of our entertainment center. As the cord moved the band, my daughter held my hand to make marks for the screws. My suggestion for those doing it alone would be a small piece of tape on the clamps to secure it to the pole while you make your mark, attach the clamp to the end of the string first. Then put the tape on this bracket and screw the bracket at the end without the cable. The forks are close together which I knew before buying, some will not be usable due to the different size of the fork ends. The ease of installation makes up for it in my opinion. Being short, sometimes you can't get your other hand up to hold the strip when it's off, which is why I appreciate the sturdy strip. Many strips I've tried installing in the past have been much more difficult and still wobble. It's a bit tricky/difficult to connect the elements at first, but once something is connected it seems a bit easier. Don't be afraid that the forks will fall out. As long as we like it.
