Revainrating 5 out of 5

Everything about the purchase suits me, a very necessary product.

A significant part of the programs, including the most necessary ones, will have to be ated / replaced, since they simply do not work with new hardware. Managed to ate and replace everything except WonTubeVideokonverter - a small program that can convert a bunch of different material overnight into easy-to-view and edit codecs. The old Air 2022 is still working on this one task. About the same as a perceived need, I look at replacing the laces for new quick connectors. Even through an adapter from usb 3.0 flash drives, they work twice as fast. I will be glad if my review is useful to someone. If you ask to take or not? I did not find anything close in terms of price / quality ratio for $ 1000. The front door was operated daily and for many hours a day for 8.5 years. During this time, I only repaired the USB port and replaced the battery; It would have worked longer, but a quarter-screen strip appeared and the trackpad died - then only expensive repairs. Any thing has flaws, but here at least at the level of iron everything is fine. If OS is finished, it will be perfect.

Pros
  • My old Air 2022 lasted 8.5 years, so I will evaluate the new Air 2022 on M1 in comparison with my old MacBook. Air 2022 on the M1 has become much smaller, the screen is much better here, it is absolutely quiet (this is mega-cool) and almost does not heat up. The battery lasts for about 8 hours under average load. AirDrop works twice as fast (finally removed unnecessary confirmations every time "trust-distrust"; remembers your devices). Probably it is about this model with small reservations that we can say that this is the very ideal Air, to which Apple came by evolutionary path. Perhaps, in addition to professional video projects and professional work with color, this kid will cope with all modern tasks. And the caveats only apply to the keyboard and trackpad, which are slightly worse than the Air 2022. The trackpad now has three pressure modes, and by setting the slider to “easy”, I almost managed to return the ease of pressing that it was before.
Cons
  • Weeds refer to Monterey 12.5 The trackpad lags - the selection flies and, when copying / pasting text, it grabs the words I don’t need to the right or left of the paste. The cursor can randomly jump to a different location when typing. This was not the case with the previous Macbook. Text Edit crashed a couple of times - typed text, the program rebooted and all work was done again Notes do not now have the usual "create a new doent" "save / save as" menus. I began to use Notes instead, but creating several notes at once will not work - you need to close the program and only after that you will be offered to create a new one. Music - you create a playlist, throw tracks into it, and they are not transferred to it, but to a file storage called Songs. 500 tracks mixed with other 2022 tracks are manually picked out and transferred to the desired playlist. QuickTimePlayer is now the default on all video files. I have never used it - it has always been inconvenient and low-functional, but before it was possible to reign the default program for the file type - now not. The checkboxes remained, but do not work. By the way, the computer now defines avi as something downloaded from the Internet and swears that the avi does not have a manufacturer's certificate. After a stupid dialogue with the computer and resetting the warnings, the long-awaited viewing is still allowed. In the screen and battery settings, I set the checkboxes to never turn off. Zero attention, the screen still constantly falls asleep. I checked it again - all the checkboxes are on, the sliders are also set (that is, I saved it in memory), but it does not work. It really infuriates that in each new version of the OS the language change key is constantly changing. Crap! Cupertino! Still, they’ve been ing blindly for years, switching these keys back and forth a hundred to five hundred times a day, and you’ve already changed the location of this key three times.
