Review on πŸ”§ BLACK+DECKER BDCDD12C 12V Cordless Driver by Matthias Foxx

The tip is not missing. Don't come back yet.

I had the same confusion as many of the previous posters. The picture shows the metal tip at the end of the drill chuck. When the drill arrived the metal tip was not there. This is because the metal teeth retract inward when the chuck is in the open position for inserting the drill. When the chuck is moved to the closed position without the drill bit installed, the teeth protrude forward and take on a pointed appearance. Thus, the drill is supplied in the open retracted position with the pointed tip retracted inward. So here is the second puzzle. The instructions state that to insert the drill, you must first turn the front half of the drill chuck counter-clockwise. However, since the chuck is already in the open position, it can no longer be rotated counterclockwise. So I spent a lot of time and effort twisting it counter-clockwise, which he didn't want since it was as open as possible. When I tried to turn it the other way, I think it got stuck and wouldn't turn. I wanted to return it. Finally, I poured some WD40 into the cartridge's hole and tapped it to get the stuff in. Eventually I was able to turn the chuck clockwise to close the teeth on the drill. After that it worked like clockwork!
