Review on Procare 79 81145 Medical Surgical Womens by Stephen Lunn

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It is very durable and appears to be well balanced

I bought this shoe as a second surgical shoe to wear outside so my first post op surgical shoe (which I got at the hospital) stays clean use at home and in bed. This review is for Medium for women. This surgical shoe can be worn on any foot. I usually wear shoes 6.5-7. I also wear heavy surgical bandages while wearing these shoes. The shoe's white rubber outsole is 10 inches long, with 3 3/8 inches at the widest point of the instep and 2 3/8 inches at the widest point of the heel. The sole is 7/8" thick at the heel and tapers to about 5/8" towards the forefoot. The profile is wavy and has a decent depth. It is very durable and looks balanced. The upper is slightly soft and smooth. The Velcro straps (one 14" long and the other 13") run through the instep and are easily adjusted using two plastic guides. I rounded off the sharp corners of the Velcro as it caught on my bandages. never mind The shoe is very light and weighs 9.6 ounces. With my surgical dressings, my ankle is 10 inches and my instep is 12 inches. This shoe fits perfectly. I highly recommend buying the ProCare Evenup Shoe Balancer from Revain as I bought a size S (shoe size: Men's 6-8 / Women's 5-8.5) and have the Shoe Balancer on my healthy foot with this surgical shoe on I walked almost normally on the other side. Better gait and pronation prevented hip and knee pain. I was not aware of this balancer as I had previous foot surgeries. How I would have liked to have had her then! I also bought a pair of bariatric socks to cover my bandages and keep my toes warm. These socks also fit OVER these surgical shoes, which is great considering I have to wear shoes 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
