Review on πŸ’» Samsung S70A Borderless TUV-Certified 4K Monitor with High Dynamic Range, Blue Light Filter, Wall-Mountable LS32A700NWNXZA by Chris Garza

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good picture quality but flickers

Nice monitor with great picture quality but mine flickers when switching to dark wallpaper and highest resolution setting. Vertical lines similar to the weave of denim also appear on the screen. Flickering and lines disappear when the desktop switches to a bright image. Otherwise I don't like anything about it. Color settings are natural after I disabled power saving mode, eye saver mode and brightness detection. At first I thought the monitor was too dark until I turned those settings off and increased the brightness, contrast and sharpness to 100%. With every other monitor or TV I've had, cranking these settings up to the maximum ruins the picture quality. In this case, the image quality was best at 100% B, C, S. The colors are vibrant, yet natural and expressive. I want these settings to be the defaults with an extra 10% brightness for good measure. I would be very satisfied with the image quality if it weren't for the flickering in dark images. If it wasn't for that I would have given it 5 stars, but because of that I'm giving it 3 stars and returning the Revain monitor. I used the display with an M1 MacBook Air and an Ivanky 4K USB C DisplayPort cable. Switching to HDMI didn't fix the flickering.
